3D Tomography

Panoramic X-ray:

With the advancements in technology, X-ray has an important place in diagnosis and treatment planning. Today, conventional dental X-rays have been replaced by digital systems. The most advanced of these is Dental Volumetric Tomography, which enables 3-dimensional imaging of the jawbone and related regions.

Why is panoramic X-ray needed?

• In panoramic X-ray, all teeth can be viewed in the same plane. This gives a lot of information to the physician about the patient's teeth and jawbone and is therefore a frequently requested method before treatment.

Why is tomography (DVT) needed?

There are cases where other imaging methods are not sufficient. Because in other methods, the images overlap and the image is formed in a single plane. Dental Volumetric Tomography gives a very low dose of radiation compared to conventional tomography and provides 3-dimensional imaging of the jawbone from every angle. It is required for diagnosis and treatment planning before many advanced surgical cases and some implant cases. Now, thanks to these devices and systems compatible with them, computer-assisted surgery can be performed without removing the gums in implant applications.

Why is panoramic X-ray preferred?

• Thanks to panoramic X-ray, caries, cysts, and tumors in the jaws can be diagnosed.

• All teeth can be viewed on a single X-ray image.

Dental Tomography

Dental tomography is used in cases where 3-dimensional imaging is required. Only X-ray allows for the desired region to be examined from the desired angle in a virtual environment.
Is it advantageous to use three dimensional (3D) dental tomography images?

3D imaging has many advantages.

It increases treatment success, because it allows to obtain data that cannot be detected in other imaging methods.
It provides much more comfortable and faster treatment by combining other advanced systems.
It provides crucial data for physicians to plan their procedures, particularly in cases where advanced surgery is required.
